Privacy & Cookies
This site (sarahjanefield.com) is built on Cargo. Its connected site, Field Notes (sjffieldscribbles.uk), runs on WordPress and has a separate policy page: https://sjffieldscribbles.uk/privacy-policy/
This site is run by Sarah-Jane Field. For any question about information held here, or to exercise any of the rights described below, contact info@sarahjanefield.co.uk
Analytics
I don't run any analytics on this site. There are no tracking or measurement scripts of mine here, and no analytics cookies I control.
Field Notes uses Jetpack Stats, described in its own policy.
Cookies
Cargo, the platform this site is built on, sets its own cookies. These include functional ones needed for the site to display and work correctly, and cookies Cargo uses to estimate audience size and traffic for its own purposes. I have no access to that data and no way to switch those cookies off from within the site. Cargo's policy is at https://cargo.site/privacy
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. Doing so sends your IP address to Google, which is how the font files reach your browser. Google states it doesn't set cookies or use this to build advertising profiles, but the request itself is a transfer of personal data. Google's policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy
Payments
Publications are sold through Stripe. Clicking a purchase link takes you to a checkout page hosted by Stripe, not by this site. No payment details are collected or stored here. Anything you enter at checkout is collected and processed by Stripe under its own privacy policy: https://stripe.com/gb/privacy
I receive only the information needed to fulfil and account for an order.
Submissions
The Lexicon submission form is hosted on Field Notes, not on this site. What it collects and how that information is handled is set out in the Field Notes policy.
External links and platforms
Some projects and writing on this site link to or are hosted on third-party platforms. These sites operate under their own privacy and cookie policies, which are beyond my control. Please review the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
Where your data goes
This site is hosted by Cargo, a US company, which stores data in US data centres and transfers it under standard contractual clauses. Cargo acts as a processor on my behalf and also collects some data for its own purposes, as set out in its policy. Stripe processes payments made through purchase links.
Nothing collected through this site is sold, rented, or shared with anyone beyond the providers named here.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your personal data, you can complain to us using the contact details above. I will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and tell you the outcome as soon as I can.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. You do not have to complain to me first.
Privacy and Cookies notices across sarahjanefield.com and Field Notes were generated with the help of a large language model, Claude by Anthropic, then checked and edited before publishing. From the 2nd of August, 2026, the EU's AI Act requires clear labelling of certain content produced using synthetic cognitive tools (commonly referred to as AI). While no equivalent legislation yet exists in the UK, disclosure of this kind is good practice, and consistent with the aims of the projects on this site.
